Sleep sound
Rain sounds for sleep
Steady, gentle rainfall is one of the most popular sleep sounds. It's soft enough to fade into the background, yet full enough to mask traffic and other noises.
Play Soft Rain
Opens the sleep mixer. Tap the sound to start it.
Why rain helps people sleep
Rain is a steady, non-threatening sound with no sudden changes, so it's easy for the mind to tune out. Many people also find it cosy: the feeling of being warm indoors while it rains outside.
Try mixing it with a thunderstorm for something deeper, or with rain on a tent for a camping feel.
How to use it for sleep
- Open the sleep mixer and tap Soft Rain. Add other sounds if you like and set each volume.
- Choose a sleep timer of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
- Switch on Bedtime Mode for a dark, dim screen, then put your phone face down.
- When the timer ends, the sound fades out slowly so it doesn't wake you.
